The oldest gay/lesbian civil rights organization in the country, the “Task Force” is the heart of gay and lesbian activism. Building grassroots political strength and powerful political alliances, the Task Force works tirelessly to end all discrimination. The organization lobbies in support of legislation that ensures equality for the LGBT community as well as other causes that make the world a better place. It also analyzes and reports on the positions of candidates for public office on issues of importance to the LGBT community.
Affluent, intellectual, passionate, and dedicated, Task Force members stand at the front line in the fight for equality. Attending conferences, lobbying, leadership training seminars, and fundraising house parties are just the beginning of their dedication to improving the world around them. Highly charitable, these donors also make significant financial commitments to all other organizations working for civil rights, health appeals, and environmental causes.
When not in the trenches fighting for equality, Task Force members are busy enjoying successful careers, attending cultural performances, and fixing up their homes. These liberals happen to be a moneyed group of consumers with much discretionary income. Solid supporters of the arts, they are pop culture-driven, fashion-conscious world travelers.
