For over 20 years, PFAW has successfully battled the right wing’s efforts to reshape society. Through advocacy and litigation PFAW halted attempts to ban books, use religious-based texts in public schools, and appoint conservative activist judges. PFAW works closely with other leading progressive organizations to mobilize Americans to take action against the conservative right. 

PFAW members are passionate about their progressive causes and they are energized like never before.  Educated, affluent, and informed, they do not sit idly by while witnessing the degradation of the environment, civil liberties, and public programs. They take action by donating to liberal organizations, reading progressive journals, and actively participating in the democratic process. Urbane and sophisticated, PFAW members are ardent supporters of the arts, widely traveled, and are always reading what’s on the best-seller list.

Progressive fundraising appeals are always welcome in PFAW homes. Dedicated to preserving the diversity and freedoms guaranteed by our constitution, these progressive thinkers consistently donate to dozens of liberal organizations.  Send them appeals for environment organizations, LGBT causes, civil/equal rights advocacy groups, political fundraisers, cultural/artistic institutions, public broadcasting entities, and publications that support their world view.
